Partitioning
Agent to Reduce Fat Stores.

Currently,
scientists believe that CLA Tonalin® alters the way
that fats are broken down and stored in various membranes
and tissues. The ration of saturated fats to monosaturated
fats in tissues is altered. The effect of this change
in the several species of animals studied in a reduction
in food consumption, a reduction in stored fat, a better
ratio of high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL, the
"good" cholesterol) to low density lipoprotein
(HDL, the good" cholesterol) to low density lipoprotein
(LDL) and total cholesterol. The significance of this
is that arterial health is protected.

lean tissue. |
Dieters, of course, are primarily interested in whether
CLA will help them lose weight. The answer here is that
research to date indicates that this supplement may be
better at making you leaner than at making you lighter.
In a variety of animal models, adding CLA to the diet
for four to eight weeks has been shown to substantially
reduce the amount of fat found in the body (from 10.13%
to 4.34% in one study) and to moderately increase the
amount of lean tissue. In these animals, CLA caused some
minor reduction in appetite, and that might account for
some of its effects. Other possible means of action include
alterations in how the body regulate its lean-to-fat balance,
changes in the flow of nutrients across cell membranes,
and a role in the control of the levels of prostaglandins
and cytokines (cellular chemical messengers affecting
growth and immune function).
Positive changes in body composition and in other physiological
markers might begin to appear only after four to eight
weeks of continued use. Its real potential benefit si
that once you've lost the fat, you may continue to stay
leaner than before with less effort. Just remember that
"lean" also means "thin" and "trim."
Truthful
Labeling
Jarrow Formulas' CLA-750 is 75% CLA. The softgel contains
a total of 1 gram (1,000 mg) of oil. A number ofproducts
are labeled as "CLA 1000" when the 1 gram softgel
capsule actually contains just 600-700 mg of CLA. Jarrow
Formulas' CLA is truthfully and accurately labeled.
